What country do you live in now and where would you like to live?

I'm from NZ and to be honest would like to stay here - if a move was on then it'd be to:

1. Japan
2. Italy
3. Fance

A desert?
Like America is full of fat loud mouthed idiots?

Get your facts straight before you start generalising.

I haven't been to too many places - NZ, US, Asia - but the places I have been have all got their good and bad, just like Australia. I'd be happy to live anywhere I can participate in the debates and arguments and love fests we get here at RHP.

I come from Zambia, live in South Africa. I have not travelled enough to know whether I would like other countries even better. My experience of moving to SA has taught me not to judge another country based on what you hear from other people. I have also learnt that it is not just the country but the particular town city or village and also your job, friends, family etc that really matter when it comes to liking a place. I would move to a country I liked less if it meant benefits in other areas like a better income etc.

Nowadays:

Canada
Iceland
Japan

If I could go back in time to when a lot of places were untouched by tourism, my choices would be:

Venice (start of the 1800s)
Budapest (1920s)
Marakesh (1930s)
St Petersburg (1900s)

Well, according to satellite images, about 70-75% of OZ is arid, right? East and west cosat are green, right? The north is tropical, but is small, so what did I misstate?..And yes, OZ is full of fat,loud-mouthed assholes....just like the US
Touche ...
You're right about the Aussies also being fat and loud mouthed. I'm not sure if it's the McDonald's we import, or the American TV shows, but something's turning us into fat slobs.
And yes, Australia is the driest permanently inhabited continent, so I guess I'll have to take back my remarks. But still, it's a bloody big place - where I live for example it would take me about 10 hours driving at 100 km/h (about 60 mph) to get to anything remotely desertlike.

And it couldn't possibly be because of oppression or war, or appalling standards of living that they might have to endure. So, being a man of principles, you'd stay put rather than hope for a better life if you were in their shoes?

Karma.

Thank your ancestors.

Although, after reading your posts if I had to guess your age, I'd venture to say that you probably fought with the Duke of Wellington in the battle of Waterloo.

In that case, thank yourself and your comrades.
