I moved to Norway 6 1/2 years ago because that's where I wanted to live, and I am still happy with my choice.

I'm happy enough where I am, Cape Town, South Africa, although I could as well live in the Languedoc, Barcelona, or Zimbabwe (given suitable economic reform).

I live near San Diego, Calif. but considre myself a citizen of the World.
I'm old, i've traveled a lot in my time and finally settled here in SoCal.
My favorite places i've visited are Greece, Spain, Japan, Thailand Brazil and Costa Rica.
Wouldn't move out of the US but find all cultures interesting. I've also found beautiful women everywhere i've been with the exception of the Middle East .. they cover 'em up and beat the crap out of 'em if they show their faces .. couldn't live someplace where the men are so afraid of their women they have to keep 'em beatdown.

I like the picture of you with your boyfriend, Chancre on this website.

What a picture of marital bliss you are.
What is it with you and homosexuality? You are always accusing someone of being Gay? Are you Homophobic? For your info Chancre is not my boyfriend. I think maybe you should go where the pretty men are and get out of the closet. I won't think any less of you because you are Gay. I already think of you as a loud mouth Keyboard Commando because of your politics not due to your sexual preference.

I find it mildly interesting that the two countries whose nationals often think everybody wants to live there i.e USA and UK are not mentioned much in this thread except by people who were born in them.

Personally, I live in Norway and it's beautiful and quaint and rather relaxed. The women are attractive and friendly 🙂 However, I wouldn't want to spend the rest of my life here as it's a bit slow and provincial.

I vote for Istanbul, Rome or possibly Sydney.

I was born in Germany but I live in the US because I choose to.

Born in Wellingborough, England, I have lived in:

Hong Kong for 2 years, Germany for 3 years, Aden for 2 years and Gibralta for 3 years as a child, with 2-year breaks in England in between; that was followed by Poland (7 years), the Czech Republic (then Czecholslovakia), Estonia, Hungary, and Ukraine for a further 3 years, China for 2 years, USA (Boston & NYC) for a bit, Japan for 5 years, all with bits and bobs of England throughout... I've also spent long holidays hitch-hiking throughout most of mainland Western and Central Europe and short breaks in Asian paradises, so I reckon I'm as much a global citizen as anyone can be.

There's still a lot I'd like to see, particularly Oz and NZ (not Christchurch though, I wouldn't want to bump into XanthosNZ...) and bits of northern Asian (Mongolia, Siberia) as well as Scandinavia.

Prettiest girls are in Japan, then Poland and Czech, but if you look hard enough you'll find beauty everywhere...
Most of the places I've been to have had spectacular areas of outstanding natural beauty, and a climate that is comfortable for me;
Food-wise, Asia and Japan in particular are much better than Europe, although in the US quantity seems more important than quality; I personally think that a tripple bacon-cheese-whopper with a kilo of fries and a litre of coca-cola is too much for breakfast or a snack. Sometimes a single prawn is much more satisfying...
Politically I'd rather live on my own island so I can make my own rules... (See Thread 41120 )
