Well, there's more, shall we say, "baggage", in this union for the Scots than the British.

I actually live in Scotland and it’s about 50 50 as far as identifying as British Scottish or just Scottish but a 100% are proud Scots.
I’m British English and the joint identity feels natural enough even though I’m very proud of my English identity.
Anyone with roots in these Islands who pretends the empire was nothing to do with them is suffering from ‘slope’y shoulder syndrome’.
Obviously the further you go back the more responsibility the political and economic elite have for empire. For most of the period most brits didn’t even have the vote.

Certainly they did send intel from broken codes.

The German plans for Kursk were relayed to the USSR, for example.

Duchess64 makes another hypocritical claim.

She knows very little about EoT's educational background. His online "character" informs her of nothing regarding his true international acumen. The same can be said for most members here.

Apparently, Duchess64 is too busy annotating "her files" as she pretends that no one recognizes her own exposure. Her inadequacies and shortcomings have been laid thread-bare due to her prolific over-posting.

Time was what Britain did not have. Hitler already had rockets capable of hitting targets in Britain. Given time, he would would developed atomic weapons to put on them, and he would have done so.
