Interesting, so do you vote for the party that you think is going to win? And see yourself as a winner when you voted for the winning party? Like a contest or betting?
btw I always vote for the soccialist party or the "green" party.

When there's a presidential election in your country. Why do you vote for the party/candidate that you voted for?
1. Do you vote for your ideals?
2. Do you vote because you like the guy?
3. Do you vote because it will make you better? ( earn you more money or something like that)
4. Something else...
Security is the # 1 priority IMO.
2. When I was young I did. I voted RFK in the 1968 Calif Primary. .. they took him out back and shot him in the head.
3. Under normal peacetime conditions, like many I "vote my pocketbook." This is how Carter and Bush1 were dumped .. bad economic management.
4. It's my duty as an American to vote IMO. We get what we deserve (who we vote for) so if you don't like it .. do something besides bitch about it. Get involved.

Under communism, according to Marx, the government disappears and there is economic cooperation as well. The principle of distribution becomes "from each according to his/her ability, to each according to his/her need."
Of course the world is not ready for this yet but its how I would like it to be in the far future.
Anyway I would never vote for a guy like mugabe, im in favour of a democratic form of soccialism.
I vote for the best man. I haven't voted for a winner in quite a while, however, that doesn't mean that I will jump on board a bandwagon so I can say "Your stuck with my guy. If you don't like it move to Canada". I truly wish that everyone would vote for the person that they believe can do the job the best. If we looked at voting in a president as hiring someone to run our business (country) neither GW nor John Kerry would have been on the final ballot.
** Edit: The best man doesn't neccesarily have to be a man.

Right on Cliff. I hope the lessons we're learning about Iraq, Katrina, the deficit, and oil prices, among other things, will finally teach us the need to elect responsible, conscientious adults instead of playboys with trust funds and cardboard cutout figures.
It's like having to choose between a turd sandwich and a big giant douche!

At 20,000 feet the oxygen is pretty thin. Take in some oxygen to clear your head and rethink your position. Whether you are Liberal, Conservative, Marxist, etc. etc. you should still exercise your right to vote. Too many people have died for you to have the opportunity to exercise that right to let it go to waste.
I don't vote for anyone because of the farce the democratic system has become.
