When you lot debate do you win or lose or do you just say stuff and then get board?
Seeiing as I was in a debate with some guy on another site, and he kept saying how he was beating me and how I was loseing. I dont think a debate is about winning or loseing, more about putting through your opinuions, but if it is whats the point?

quality they will think about your points or give you points to
ponder, and with that someone will gain new understanding. This
may not mean that either "win" the debate, but perspective or
wisdom is gained by the readers. Readers may not even be
someone in the discussion, but simply someone who does not
like to mix it up, but understand what others think.
If your dealing with someone whose goal is to 'win', I doubt they
will be taking much of what you say as something to think about,
their interests seem to be in showing you up. I doubt that you will
ever win against someone like that, they would seem to be
someone who enjoys expressing themselves to show everyone
else how smart they are. They cannot do that if they have to give
you credit for a well placed point.

P-
Debates can have multiple purposes.
One possible purpose is to win, another is to understand the other's point of view, yet another is to make them understand yours and so on and so forth.
You should decide what your purpose for debating is and debate accordingly, never assume you know what the other's purpose is and stay true to yours no matter what.
