The nazis, say what you want about them, did dress rather snappy.

But, simce when was the maffia bloody cool?
Italian hardmen squeezing money out of hard working shop owners? Nasty, wife beating, goons.

Lou Reed, Jason Statham and Bill Murray are cool.
shav: "But, simce when was the maffia bloody cool?"

You had your assorted characters from the Sopranos, the Godfather genre, and others. Tough to figure, eh?

He's a European. He's thinking of the actual Sicilians.

Well the Russians have Putin the man who rides on bears shirtless, is lord of the KGB and master of hand to hand combat, AND has been initiated into the Night Wolves, a Russian 1% Outlaw Motorcycle Club under the name of Abbadon the Destroyer.

And India has Bollywood. IDK any particularly cool Indian Americans.

EDIT And Korea and Japan are centers of coolness too.

But overall I your point is accurate.

That's cooler than the guy who can't talk to girls on Big Bang Theory IMO.

You do see the similarities though shatmixer, a council bureaurat visits "local hard working shop owners" suggests to the shop owners they might like to 'ahem' choose *nudge, wink, chuckle* to give the council money and in return some very, very unfortunate affair concerning their business may be averted.

The "local hard working shop owners" are purchasing protection from the council for protection from what the council might do.
Wow the most inaccurate non analogy of the week.
Council tax rates are based on local property prices and councils are democratically elected, the nice hard working shop owner is a minority most shop owners own massive chains of massive shops paying the actual hard working folk minimum wage whilst they swan about on yachts and now the corporate whore vajoma doesn’t think they should pay for their own roads, refuse collection or any other amenity that's required for their shops to operate 🙄
The Mafia is just another scumbag corporation leeching off the poor but at least they don’t get knighted and occasionally we get to see them riddled with bullets, if only all corporate scum faced the same fate.

With Putin being popular among right-wingers and Trump openly stating he'll be a dictator "for one day", it seems "dictator" is losing it's stigma. Kind of like how gangsters are now seen as cool instead of rotten criminals.

This is an interesting time where people are freely and happily supporting people *because* they're dictators.

The world is moving backwards.
I’m sure the original quote was “I’m going to be a dictator on day” totally different connotation but purposely ambiguous unless you consider the fact that being a dictator for one would not achieve anything thst trump desires.
Probably should be read as ‘I’m going to be a dictator from day one”.

The Mafia and the Council rely on force and threats of force.

The analogy stands.

With only 31 percent of votes counted so far Bukele has 83% of those votes.

Looks like he will be a influential world leader given others will copy his style hoping to be as popular.

No they don’t the council relies on the courts and the democratic process you lying corporate whore. Nobody behind in their local rates has ended up sleeping with the fishes Mr hyperbole
Clearly libertarianism is sponsored by corporations who hate paying even the little tax they do pay. Or having to adhere to basic environmental or staff health and safety regulations. Yeah let’s abandon democracy and play the hunger games meets rollerball instead.

And it doesn't stop there.

We have, the Council/Mafia 'asking' for money to prevent some unpleasant outcome initiated by the Council/Mafia (not necessarily 'sleeping with the fishes' and you need to consult your tv more on this kb, murdering 'civilians' is not the preferred method of torment by the Mafia or the council in these situations, you're being hyperbolic)

We also have the 'vig'. If you don't pay your council rates in a time period determined by the council they bang on a usurious penalty a.k.a. The vig. (The IRD like this one too,) The intention in all cases, Council/Mafia/IRD , is to drive already struggling mom and pop businesses into the ground then moving in and selling up at cents on the dollar prices.

Well you’re just outright lying vajoma, hint if your argument relies on misrepresenting reality you do not have an argument.
If you want to lower or abolish local business rates get yourself into local politics and campaign for it. I forgot you don’t do democracy do you!
If corporations paid a realistic proportion of their profits we could probably do away with small business taxes and rates altogether. As it is local authorities rely on this income to keep the old and infirm in their communities alive.
Poverty is the biggest and most egregious use of force by the powers that be

Force and threats of force are legitimate, and some would say obligatory, in response to the initiation of force and threats of force.

It is the initiation of force and threats of force which is the prime evil.
