With the recent censorship in China, I have come to wonder about censorship not only there, but also here in the United States. In China, they are censoring human nature: in other words, they are preventing freedom. It is against the law for people in China to read and even search for anything about capitolism and/or democracy. It's unbelievable!
But now, let's turn out attention here to the United States. We have been watching a slow censorship of ideals for years. The biggest issue now being homosexuality. My school is having a solidarity day tomorrow, in which we are to wear ribbons and shirts supporting homosexuals and the prevention of discrimination against them. While I agree that discrimination and hate crimes against them are a big issue, why am I forced to accept them and I myself as a heterosexual discrminated against when I disagree? Also, why is a day given to them alone? How about a Christian Day, helping to prevent the murder of Christians by the millions on a daily basis? Why not have a Day Against Violence? I know that many kids are targeted at schools and other places for all manner of reasons! Violence and discrimination are an issue for everyone! If you ask me, it's not just a homophobic society, but just as much a heterophobic one. The argument goes both ways.
Back to the issue of censorship, every gay organization in the world cries bloddy murder when anyone disagrees with homsexuality. A perfect example is the recent American Idol premiere. Simon has made some comments that are "derogatory" in nature about a few contestants of questionable "sexuality". One being a transexual which Simon asked if the person was a male or female. Now, gay groups around the nation are crying prejudice and hate, wanting the show shut down if it persists.
So maybe in our own little nation, the horror of thought censorship is coming. If it is against the common will, then you will be censored and silenced. Am I alone in this thought, or are there others out there who believe the same?

I wonder if any of your friends will come out for Solidarity day... Would that affect how you feel on this issue?

Heterosexuals are not being discriminated against when they are forced to stop discriminating against homosexuals. If the rights of homosexuals were universally recognized, then they wouldn't need a day to bring attention to their plight. It would be a non-issue. Besides, the christians and heterosexuals have the other 364 days of the year all to themselves.

As for American Idol, it's an ignorant show that only an ignoramus would watch. Any means that would get it off the air should be counted as a blessing to humanity.
So quit your pathetic whining.

RHP, will remove a post without such a message.
Edit: I do apprieciate that I able to post here. I'm not sure whether RHP is accessible in China.

I’m against hate crimes as well, but I wouldn’t wear a ribbon to support homosexuality. I’m not sure your school has the legal right to force you to.

But yes, I'm sure there are actually some christians being persecuted somewhere in the world. It would be difficult to sustain a martyr complex without at least some fuel to kindle it.

You got that right.
But I'm not native to Ann Arbor, so I'm generally not as dogmatic in that regard. But those Buckeyes better not look to my fiancee for any sympathy.
