Wow, my taxes are low!

I mean, I read all about the Tax Cut and Jobs Act and how it would help me, but I'm punching the numbers into TurboTax and I can't believe how low my effective tax rate is.

Yeah, the 5 kids and the mortgage interest and all that jazz help, but really, Uncle Sam? That's it?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not volunteering any more than I have to pay to avoid going to the slammer, but in theory, I'm willing to pony up a few extra smackers to help balance the budget and even to help provide universal healthcare.

Now all we need to do is find some politicians who'd know how to administer my extra tax $$ and we'll be perfect.

According to "economic theory" on this forum if you pay more tax you'll have
to employ less people. Conversely if you pay less tax you will create more jobs!
