Was he threatening a violent response as the Republicans irresponsibly assume? Or was he threatening a political response? Let's continue the very same speech. These are the words Schumer used next:
"The bottom line is very simple. We will stand with the American people. We will stand with American women. We will tell President Trump and Senate Republicans, who have stacked the Court with right-wing ideologues, that you’re going to be gone in November, and you will never be able to do what you’re trying to do now ever, ever again. You hear that over there on the far right? You’re gone in November."
Schumer was clearly threatening a political response, not a violent response. Not so shockingly, no Republicans quote this part of the speech.
If you would remember, it was Schumer who rushed through a bill to enhance security for the Justices. Say what you will about Schumer, but he is not a violent extremist, nor a politician who encourages violent extremism.

The way he acted is more befitting a 19 year old college protestor, not a senior American Statesman.
