"GOP slips an attack on Social Security into its coronavirus relief bill"
The GOP and their Wall St. puppet masters have been scheming for decades for a way to slash Social Security, or to get their grubby little hands on the fund, and "manage" it . Legions of fund managers dream of fees flowing into their pockets every night. Privatizing Social Security is just another way the 1% can line their own pockets at the expense of the working class. This is little different than when the GOP promised decades ago that competition among companies would bring the cost of healthcare and pharmaceuticals down, benefitting the consumer, and ushering in a new age of prosperity. -We saw how that worked, didn't we? 🙄

The Trump years have taught us that the GOP doesn't even have the back of their felllow GOP.

Of course they do not have the back of anyone -- except maybe the normie conservative GOP has the back of the billionaires.

Andrew Cuomo, a democrat, wants to increase the mass transit fare prices to pay for increased costs during the pandemic.

That is, have the poorest of new yorkers, the ones most hit by the pandemic, help pay for its costs.

But i am sure this post is redundant and you didn't mean to say "republicans are the problem, vote democrats" instead of "hold accountable any politician that fuks with the poor"

MBTA bus fare is not changing.

MBTA subway fare is going up 15 cents.

Weekly passes (mostly used by people commuting to work) are going up $1.25.

Monthly passes (also mostly used by people commuting to work) are going up $5.50.

The following fares will remain the same:

Local bus one-way fare
Local bus monthly pass
Reduced one-way fares for local bus and subway (senior, TAP, youth, and student)
Reduced monthly passes (senior, TAP, youth, and student)

Congress has provided zero help for this in their recent coronavirus legislation. Cuomo is doing what he can. Blaming him is like blaming women for being raped.

Meanwhile the Republicans in the Senate propose gutting Social Security and hide it in a coronavirus relief bill and that's a-ok with you. Clearly the minor increase in subway fares in NYC is more important. Idiot.

"Sorry for my language"
You're not sorry, so let's cut the fake mannerisms

do you have a problem understanding the difference between "wants to do x" and "actually will do x"? Perhaps you thought that was the very worse i can say about Cuomo instead of the most recent?

Or you skimmed through my post and understood what you needeed to come back with maximum aggro and feel justified to be as rude as you were?

" is doing what he can. "
He can also in increase property tax in Manhattan. Get the money from the rich. He can also make mass transit free.

So no, dear buthurt democrat. He is not doing what he can. He is doing what's best for the millionaires he is really representing.

"Blaming him is like blaming women for being raped."
Hah, classy.

"Meanwhile the Republicans in the Senate propose gutting Social Security and hide it in a coronavirus relief bill and that's a-ok with you. "
I preemptively addressed this strawman specifically because i knew it was coming. Can you spot where?

"Clearly the minor increase in subway fares in NYC is more important. "
Nope. Didn't say that. Or imply it. Care to retract and apologize? Probably not.

"Idiot."
Rude.

I'm getting increasingly tired of you Euro-leftists and your "Democrats are as bad as Republicans" BS. NO, they are NOT.

Calling out Cuomo for a minor fare increase which is not nearly as bad as Senate Republicans gutting Social Security and hiding it in a coronavirus relief bill is a ridiculous stretch and illustrates how entirely stupid your "Reps bad, Dems just as bad" bull is.

There's an anti-poor mindset with the Republican party which is well-known. Random individual Dems doing something questionable doesn't change that.

As much as I condemn Democrats like Biden, Hilary, or even the entire party, it doesn't change the fact that they're the best bet for the interests of the poor....as sad as this fact is.

That's not what i said either. Holding accountable any politician that fuks with the poor is NOT saying anything about saying republicans and Democrats are equal. Is this poor reading comprehension intentional? you being determined yo get into a fight?

Or you're simply a bit slow?

Saying Andrew Cuomo has been horrible at dealing with the pandemic is not saying he should be replaced with a republican, just that he has been horrible at his job. And maybe next time vote for Cynthia Nixon or find a better Cynthia Nixon to run against him.

"Calling out Cuomo for a minor fare increase which is not nearly as bad as Senate Republicans "
By this logic we wouldn't be able to call out objectively bad democrats on anything because there is always a republican who did something worse.

A logic illustrated perfectly well by the democrats shoving Biden in your faces and daring you not to vote for him.

AOC kicked Joe Crowley in the balls because he was a horrible politician for the people l. She didn't vote for his republican oponent like you imply is the only course of action for anyone daring to criticize your precious democrats. She replaced him and did a better job. The people who voted for her who were disgusted with Crowley's corporatist crp also didn't vote republican.

Do you understand better now or do you need me to draw you a picture in pretty crayons?

sure, but like i said, lying down and giving up won't help. You criticize corporatist democrats wherever you find them. If you feel up for it, you run against them. At the very least if enough people voice their displeasure it might determine some progressive to run against said corporatist whore.

"As much as I condemn Democrats like Biden, Hilary, or even the entire party, it doesn't change the fact that they're the best bet for the interests of the poor....as sad as this fact is."
No they are not. Sadly there is nothing that could be done about Biden. The DNC got you by the balls there. You will have to settle for him. But you can still make a difference down ballot. You can vote for Shahid Buthar and get Pelosi out. Find out which democratic seats are up for reelection. Get involved. Just saying that democrats are better than republicans is a low bar and let's them know they own you and don't have to do anything to get your vote

still nope🙂
half of them just voted with republicans to strike down a measly 10% cut tp the pentagon budget, money that would be used for the poor.

Each of those democrats working against the poor to please their donors

Again, half is still better than 100% republicans voting against that bill. But you americans have got to stop being content with choosing the lesser evil and start looking for a third option. Each of those democrats deserve to be primaried (Kamala Harris and Tammy Duckworth, two politicians wo call themselves progressives among them)
