‘Havana syndrome’ not caused by energy weapon or foreign adversary, intelligence review finds

The mysterious ailment known as “Havana syndrome” did not result from the actions of a foreign adversary, according to an intelligence report that shatters a long-disputed theory that hundreds of U.S. personnel were targeted and sickened by a clandestine enemy wielding energy waves as a weapon.

The new intelligence assessment caps a years-long effort by the CIA and several other U.S. intelligence agencies to explain why career diplomats, intelligence officers and others serving in U.S. missions around the world experienced what they described as strange and painful acoustic sensations. The effects of this mysterious trauma shortened careers, racked up large medical bills and in some cases caused severe physical and emotional suffering.

I agree with the CIA, it is *not* a foreign adversary that is responsible.

So, what is there alternative theory?

Mine would be that US embassies have the same fridge / coffee machine / dishwasher or something and that something’s off on one of those types of machines.

Makes no sense at all.

You have the CIA/intel agencies saying they don't know, and you have scientists saying it may be an energy beam of some kind.

On your "fridge / coffee machine / dishwasher or something" theory...
Impossible. It is happening in many countries and, the US embassies are the only ones effected.

This is from the CIA report:
"analysts spent months churning data, looking for patterns and inventing new analytic methodologies, only to come up with no single plausible explanation."

Now. we are talking about over 1,000 American diplomat personnel and children, in many embassies
in every continent in the world (except Antartica). What the bleep?!

The one important statistic that they have carefully avoided...
How many other countries have had their embassy staffers effected this way? They won't touch that.

Interesting little factoid: Since Russia invaded Ukraine, the injuries have slowed way down.

So far as I know no other embassy has this problem.
So, either US embassies are being targetted. Or, something within various embassies is causing it.

Now, most government organisations buy equipment in bulk (lowers costs). So, each embassy will have the same coffee machine, dishwasher, microwave, etc.

Or the same dishwashing tablets, toilet deodorants, pen ink, etc.

And that is where I’d place my bet. On something like that.

Could be aural or nasal. Although the same monitors is a possibility too, coming to think of it. A low whatever-the-rate-is-called… can make you groggy, dizzy, nauseous (cyber sickness). Add to that a specialised, paranoid, air-conditioning…

Sounds quite a reasonable assumption to me.

Edit:
And here’s a link to common office problems:
https://opensourcedworkplace.com/news/24-ways-your-office-is-making-you-sick

Take into account that it’s several offices. What would these offices have in common?

I find that scenario not workable.
1) *Other* staffers in other embassies would similarly be effected, but they are not.
2) Defective equipment can't possibly be only in American embassies *unless* it was directed that way.

Somebody is surely aiming this unseen weapon right at the American embassy staffers, and *only* them. IMO

If that were the case it'd be happening all over the world, not just in US Embassies.

Certainly doesn’t require the same level of Machiavellian mischief as the other possibilities.
Same aircon units maybe or the poor lambs are just home sick.

Not so.
First you have to check which installations, equipment, ink, etc. Are delivered to which embassies, and see if there are connections.

That’s not happened (as far as I know).
But that would be a more plausible investigation compared to foreign forces with evil not-sure-if-it-exists weapons.

I mean, if you’re going to target a bloody embassy… just poison the fukking place.

Have to agree with Shav unfortunately.

It's most likely a toxic material that went unnoticed in the manufacturing process.
Imagine faulty air filters for the HVAC...or whatever...

They never find any toxicity in these victims. That is why the theory is an energy weapon and not what you suggest

And again, within any capitol city where the US has an embassy you are likely to see 50 embassies or more.
But it is always the US embassy. And you just want to call that a coincidence? Yow

So.. what proof is there of an energy weapon?
