Roosevelt's dream? For europe or the US... please try to be specific. I can't respond to something that has no context. If you want to go back to after the big one... forget it. Todays war is all that matters. Europe is of no real interest. Importance, yes... Interest... no.
I think some of the confusion here is that this thread never asked for a position or an argument. It is just a blanket statement, implying an opinion as a reply. I don't think that i have a position. A Position would require me to line up arguments, research facts... etc. What this thread invites is not that. If you have a position here... I guess i just plain missed it. As a matter of fact, I can't even discover what your OPINION is. If you see your "Argued, reasoned and demonstrated 'Position' as superior to my 'Opinion', there is not much I can do about that. As I say... my opinion on this ( paying for the war in Iraq) is a non starter. Of course we have to pay for it. Again... that is my OPINION... not a position that i care to substantiate with research and data.

I have made a discovery here that I am going to implement into my life. In discussing what Dick Cheney did or didn't do, and if something bad came of it... i realized that i rely entirely on a free press. My mistake, that i realized just today, is that i need to subscribe to the "opposition" news. There are two newspapers here in town. One extremely liberal and the other extremely conservative. From now on, when the democrats are in power, i am going to switch my subscription to the conservative paper. (and hope my wife will still talk to me) When the republicans are in power i will switch back to the liberal paper. Might help. And same for TV news... Demo's in... Fox, Repub's in... CNN. That should give me a better chance of catching any crap that goes on. I don't care about the accusations and crap, but if hard news turns something up... it's worth doing. I just plain don't have time to go look up everything that comes up. Does anyone.
