Well, Peter Frampton deserves to be on the list somewhere, and I'd put George Harrison and Ted Nugent in the other two duplicated slots.

Larry Carlton twice also, now I'm down to 97. I could add three but i'm sure somebody else will come up with more names.
Zoot Horn Rollo is on there twice, Chuck Rainey played bass, and I know Toots Theilman as a harmonica player but never heard him mentioned as a guitar player.

Maybe thats why I'm no good at chess, I can't even keep a list of 100 possibilities straight.
Bill Harkelroad, alias Zoot Horn Rollo, might have died recently. I meant Jimmy Rainey, played with Gil Evans' big band, I did write Chuck. put him on the bass list.
Toots used to play guitar in the Dick Cavett band, a late night TV show in the 60's & 70's, he also wrote "Bluesette"

You surely need to find room for Henry Kaiser, Nguyen Le, John Abercrombie and Vernon Reid. Can't tell you who to drop from the list because there are too many names I don't recognize.

Coming soon: the list of two hundred guitar players.

So you want to study guitar....hand your student a list of two hundred guitar players that they will have to listen. Some great additions being added.

I'd definitely have Mark Knopfler in there somewhere.

Whoever the guitarist for Mr.Blotto is. Him. Or her.

Talking of which (which I do), I remember seeing a Jeff Beck Concert in Tokyo in about 2000, maybe 1999. He had another guitarist in his band, a woman with big hair. She was an amazing guitarist.
