The fact that people agree or disagree with a statement doesn't make that statement necessarily true or false.
If the statement has meaning for you, that's great. Build a belief structure around it, if you like.
To me it was nothing more than an attempt at an insult.
What I said was that her claims seemed to be meaningful propositions. I'm interested to know why you think "Red Night doesn't really care about X" can be neither true, nor false.

I think it was more of an existential comment.
Originally posted by dottewellNo, I don't think that I was specifically referring to that line either.
Right. So it's "RN has a pathological need to draw attention to himself" that is neither true nor false. Is that meaningless?
Again, it was more of an existential comment.
Pathological is a clinical term. No serious clinician would use that term to descrbe someone that they had never met.
The thing about psychoses is that on a certain level they apply to everyone. Everyone is narcissistic, paranoid, depressed, etc.
(And please forgive me if I have mis-used a word. This is NOT my area of expertise. It is therefore purely a layman's explanation.)
In this case, someone bundled up a complete diagnosis and spit it out in the form of an insult. In my mind, that made the entire statement meanignless.
Now this is my final thought on the topic: I don't have the time to spend every afternoon arguing with you. For one thing, the debates aren't that interesting. And secondly, your debating style tends to revolve around insulting me and my family. Sooner or later I am bound to lash back at you and get told that I stepped over some line.

there are seven recs given to mimor's post.
Originally posted by Red NightSo am I. You start this thread with a nasty and completely unprovoked attack on someone; then, when someone figures you out, you attack them instead of defending yourself against what seems a perfectly good point. You say their post was, in an "existential" sense, neither right nor wrong. You clearly have no idea what the word means.
I'm still waiting.
You're a fraud.
