Did you hate this guy's character? Like him? Personally, I liked him. I thought it was refreshing to see a guy who had some values and wanted to stand behind them. I was kinda rooting for the guy. I guess i'm a bit of an idealist. Wishful thinking that we'd actually get someone like that in the White House.

My wife, on the other hand, wanted to stab him in the throat.

What did you think?

He was alright. He helped out quite a bit later on.

To bad he's dead now.

I loved him in seasons one and two, but from three onwards the writers made some fatal compromises with his character.

But on TV no one is ever dead.

Expect a conspiracy and a come back! It has happened before.

Perhaps he slipped in a shower and had a dream or perhaps he ascended for a year or two!

Nah, nice idea, but Dennis Haysbert had a very public slanging-match with the producers in which he castigated (and for all of us fans, a sadly accurate castigation) the show for having degenerated into a one-dimensional spy drama.

I dont know about fatal compromises in the Bauer character, but i agree that they certainly changed his characteristics.
I still am a fan, but getting him of that Chinese freighter is going to take some doing.
PS, it would really suck to be one of his family or a friend!

Ha, the problem with Jack Bauer is the very opposite- they haven't made enough compromises or inserted any vulnerabilities!

I loved the first three seasons, hated (hated, hated) season four. Season five was an improvement but just a two-dimensional riff on earlier seasons, I think it finally marks the moment where I lost faith with the show.

I still love it. Can't wait for season 6.

... but Stargate is better!

I hear Stargate is ending after this season, I liked that show, watched it all the time.

I wish they'd renew Boomtown and Millennium...isn't going to happen, sadly.

The only David Palmer I know became Dee Palmer about 3 years ago.

Heck, I'd actually vote for Dennis Haysbert for real life president over Bush.

Then again, that isn't saying much. I'd vote for my cat before Bush. I'd prefer a pumpkin over Bush ... you get the idea.

I'm a big fan of 24 - have watched from the beginning. I must say that if I were a friend or colleague of Jack Bauer I'd be inclined to stay far away from him.

You are right RookRAK, Dennis Haysbert would make a good leader.

Cant wait for next series.

PS, notice how Stargate has most of the actors from Farscape. WTF???

It's funny, after watching the show, I've recognized his voice in so many commercials and things. I guess the guy does a lot of voice-over work. I was playing a PlayStation game the other day, and he did the voice in that too.
