Some of these macho hunters should be left for a few days in a remote rain forest with just a 4 inch penknife.....then we'd see who the real woosies were [most would be lost without their elephant guns and their AK47s methinks, haha]

Keep the good work up.
Nice sidesepping of the hypocrisy of you still being responsible for the death of animals for your pleasure(however indirectly). And yes you are ignorant. You call my killing wasteful and senseless without even asking why I hunt. I prefer to eat meat which has not been injected with antibiotics, steroids, and has been tested to be free of BSE or other such diseases. It is much lower in harmful cholesterols, and higher in beneficial ones than any domesticly raised meat. And I do use everthing possible from the animal. But you didn't know that did you? You just assumed. Why? Because you're an ignorant pompus git.

Every time a grade A misinformed jackass like you opens his mouth, it shows all the reasons I hunt in a better light.

Keep up the good work.

Yours sincerely

Pompous GIT.

May I also congratulate you on your polite dabating technique.

I wasn't too worried about that, as you don't hunt.

I think I may have changed my mind after you and the other "macho" hunters put your cases forward so well slinging the insults "woss" "pansies" etc etc here and there.

I hope you shoot yourself in the face. Murderer.

Nah, just can't get behind it. Most people have no idea how much hunting and fishing contributes to protecting the environment and preserving this great nation for future generations. Conservation is not just saving the last beer for your buddy to most hunters. Hunting license fees go to conservation efforts, parks and recreation and a number of other environmental protection programs. Plus, I'd be willing to wager that most people posting in this thread are not vegitatians... ever been to a slaughter house? Still ignorance is bliss as can be demonstrated in this thread.

50 yearsago when I was a small boy, it was considered natural for a father to take his son out and teach him how to shoot and hunt. Now, in the industrialized countries, it's considered obscene and barbaric.
The pussyfication of the modern male makes me glad my days are coming to an end.

What you say is correct to a degree but fisheries and other game reserves also have detrimental effects on wildlife, potentially resulting in extinctions.

If thats the way you feel, take yourself to the deepest darkest parts of the Congo and all will be fine and dandy.

By the way, there's nothing wrong with shooting slugs through a full choke barrel, contrary to popular belief. If it were, there'd be an awful lot of damaged barrels out there, as everyone does it.
Most boxes of shells are labeled in support of this. Slugs can be shot through any choke. Surprisingly accurate really, I get very acceptable groups out to 100yrds.

???? Game reserves and fisheries are detrimental to wildlife and contribute to extinctions? What a G.D.foolish assertion.

Oh come on now. So do people in general, we consume resources at a faster rate than we can replenish them or find alternatives. Population growth, new housing and strip malls alone will destroy hundreds of thousands of acres of land in a single year.

I assure you that Federal and local hunting dues are, by and large, used to perserve and expand wildlife refuges, breeding programs, wetland management, fish hatcheries, etc... Just wishing it wasn't so doesn't make it so. Many hunters even donate part or all of their kills to feed the needy (families that would otherwise go hungry).

I understand your perspective, but, I feel strongly that you are wrong. There are unethical, stupid and dangerous hunters out there, but, they are by far the minority.

Edit: I for one spent roughly $600 on tags and permits in various states and killed one duck (a bony little bastard he was at that). I don't care because the money goes to perserving the areas that I love to hike and camp in.

I will try to explain this to you, if you stock a lake with fish, where do they come from.

They are bred for this purpose, therefore they are isolated from natural stocks, when then introduced to the lake some escape, breed with natural stocks and affect the genes of future offspring, also potentially spreading disease and hybridastion. This is a known case for example atlantic salmon salmo salar, soon to be potentially extinct if we continue.

My proof.
