2,751 people* don't die in such a short span of time every day.
You may not like America or Americans, but please, STFU and give us our day of remembrance.
*This figure doesn't include those who died at the Pentagon, nor those who died on United Flight 93. It only includes those who died at the World Trade Center site.

USA registered deaths in the year 2000 were 2,403,351 which is an average over over 6,500 per day.
Thats just in the USA. Can you imagine the worldwide figures?
Do you remember every large disaster, every large loss of life? When does a shocking event become worthy of remembrance?
No-one is saying don't remember, what they are saying is don't shove it down everyone elses throat every year.

That 6,500+ you quote is an average over a 24-hour period.
On 9-11 we saw over 2,750 people die in an hour and 45 minutes. This is a shocking loss of life in a shockingly short amount of time.
That was my point.
America has not been tragically attacked like this since the attacks on Pearl Harbor, and God willing, never will be again.
And no one is shoving anything down anyone's throat. What we are saying is let us remember, without calling us babies or whiners.

I don't have the exact figures, nor the exact date.
I probably would if I were Chinese.
And I'm not about to say to them "Oh, please... grow up", or "Would you quit yammering on about it already?"

I don't like the fact that 2 750 died at WTC that day.
But I do not like the fact that dismembered Iraq children and womans do not get same symphaties while their body parts are placed all over the street altough they only went out to buy something for lunch. Same for Sarajevo when they had embargo on weapons. Do someone even remember what happen in the center of Sarajevo (marketplace) 15 years ago ???
But who cares for small countries.
Machiavelli would be proud with some countries / leaders
