My friend dominic 0987 wasent a cheater?? I think russ has made a big mistake! i know him and i know he wouldnt cheat. He is the only one in the list who has a really low rating he is normally rated around 1300 or something. He loses against 1200s and lower check his rating graph? These he lost just a little while ago some of them a couple of days ago.
Game 1340886
Game 1317184
Game 1340681
Game 1226299
Edit.. He cheated to get his rating up..

I don't often get pissed off but I am right now. Badly. If anything, this latest cheaters expose has all but solidified my decision to join my local club and play otb more often. In that way, I can see who I'm playing and whether they're human or not !!!
I'll still play at RHP as I have done for the last 3 years, but when I look at my modest improv ...[text shortened]... rts.
I'm off to get drunk - see you all on Monday when battle (fair battle) recommences.....
He is normally a 1300 1400, but as you can see in his rating graph it always going up and down because he wins games then he gets timed out cus he very busy and since the start of his 6 weeks break he has had plently of time to get his rating to were it should be. And plus look along the line where it goes up and you will see that none of those people are any higher than 1200 mostly below 1000.
Originally posted by The Fast PawnBS!! Look at his list of games, pages 4 and 5. He's rated around a 1000 on July 28 and then wins HIS NEXT 30 GAMES IN A ROW!!! On August 7, he loses a games to Mattb5 a game that started on June 20, where our hero lost his Queen on move 9 (probably a month before he started engining up) and then he wins HIS NEXT 17 GAMES IN A ROW!!! That's a 1000 winning 47 out of 48 games out of the blue! Let's not be ridiculous, ladies.

Originally posted by PhlabibitIf you set Fritz to analyze a given position without moving, you will see that in some positions it has several moves that are rated equally as good. The problem is not that it would 'pick' one of the options if forced to move, but that it is offering an evaluation of the available moves at all.
Hmmm... an engine will always pick what it thinks is the best Book Move. There might be more than one line from a position, so the engine might have 2 or more options and will go with what it thinks is the best book move... where I will need to decide on my own.
When you ask an engine what move it should make in a book, it will never come back and say... "I don't know, these are just as good as the other... what do YOU think?"

Books are more helpful in certain endgames than Fritz...Fritz suffers from horizon effect, while a book can give you more than just moves...it can give the general method used to win, which is much more powerful knowledge.
It's important to note that reading chess books isn't usually allowed during OTB games. Why? Pragmatism. It's reasonable to ask a player not to read chess books for a few hours, but not for a few months.
