Ah, but that was one day after 'going live', so it didn't take long for that 'feature' to arrive. And on my birthday too. 🙂

It is just a process of narrowing it down.

For example, start at page 200 by going to this URL:

http://www.redhotpawn.com/board/threadlist.php?forumid=1&page=200

You would find it exists so you change the URL to have page=300 .

This also exists so you try 400 (which also exists). Try 500 and you find that it doesn't so you then try 450 then 425. Would not take long to find out which is the last page.

It only took about 15 seconds to find this is the last page of the "Only Chess" forum:

thats how i go way back myself
change the page number on the address bar
works in game history,etc, etc, also
and as lausey said its just a wild guess to start( i guessed 400 then 450 then the page numbers appeared 😉
