We love them, they pop up everywhere, references to chess in movies music and life. I'd like people to use this thread to give notice to these little references. Not movies or songs or sayings that are specifically about chess, but mention or elude to it.

On tv, before a soccer semi final a couple of nights ago, Sky were doing the usual hype, trying to say that the soccer game was going to be really tactical like a chess match, with chess moves being made cut in to soccer passes/goals. And the two managers were the Kings. Anyway, one of the moves was a pawn capture something like b5xb4, ie a straight pawn capture. Funnily enough I was the only one in the pub who laughed . Then at the end of the bit of hype, they showed an empty chess board, with just the two kings left, so I said 'its going to be a draw'. More funny looks.
It was a draw.
