I'm proud of my country today. I disagree with Barack Obama's politics. Profoundly. But I consider today a glorious day in American history because a major political party nominated a black man for my country's highest elected office.

You can be the most conservative Republican whackjob - I'm a conservative, and I think there are an awful lot of people in America who call themselves conservatives who are actually just whackjobs - and you should still be proud that America has a black man as a nominee for President.

Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain were flying to a debate.

Barack looked at Hillary, chuckled and said, "You know I could throw a $1,000 bill out of the window right now and make somebody very happy."

Hillary shrugged her shoulders and replied, "I could throw ten $100 bills out of the window and make ten people very happy."

John added, "That being the case, I could throw one hundred $10 bills out of the window and make a hundred people very happy."

Hearing their exchange, the pilot rolled his eyes and said to his copilot, "Such big-shots back there. I could throw all three of them out of the window and make 156 million voters very happy."

I like the pilot.

Personally I think this whole race deal is ridiculous. Like when a black
man gets to nail a white woman and everyone goes: "oooooh" because
their (un)pleasently shocked. No. It's just a horny black man who gets to
nail a horny white chick. Nothing more to it. It's not the end of the world,
or the beginning of a completely new era. It just... is.

I think it's a good thing that Obama was chosen. Despite being a
politician, I'm hoping that he will be the first (and this would be big)
politician to keep his promises. His foreign policy (obviously the only part
of american politics that interests me personally) that he will restore
haebas corpus, close guantanamo and leave Iraq, shows clear signs of
intelligence, and it's about time you had an intelligent president. So, not
only am I happy about Obama leading the democrats, but I'm hoping
you'll be able to say you're "proud" to have a black president soon
enough.

Au contraire, mon frere. Obama is not the nominee until chosen as the nominee by all the delegates at the convention. However, confidence is high.

And, might I add, at the risk of being labeled a "racist", America should be as proud of nominating a woman for president as of nominating a black man. But it's still okay to be "sexist" (as long as you're not "racist" ).

Why has it taken 232 years?

In the beginning it was "run Obama, run!" Now it is "win, Obama, win!"

Here then, let me ruin your day.

Being a conservative Republican, and disagreeing "profoundly" with Obama's politics, this means you are probably going to root for/vote for John McCain.

Yeah, 😞 , I know...

Isn't Obama half white and half black? Shouldn't that make his race muddled and unimportant? Aren't what changes he's going to make more important?
