@kilroy70 saidWhat on Earth makes you (and them) make that connection!? Tarshish was in the Levant!
Just a tidbit I thought was interesting and has been confirmed by most scholars:
You can find England mentioned in the Old Testament (the merchants of Tarshish).
And the U.S. (as an offshoot of England) is referenced as being one of the "young lions of Tarshish".
@torunn saidYes, the place I live in only has around 500,000 people. 🙂
Maybe you live in a small place, a small community where people know each other, or at least acquainted. In big cities it may be different. London for instance - now we are back where we started,
We only have close to 1 million in the whole province just a small place. 🙂
We have many immigrants who have arrived the last few years, so my numbers could be a bit low.

@shallow-blue saidWhere is Tarshish in the Levant, and do you know it's modern day name?

I don't know why or how Biblical scholars made that connection, but I'm assuming much of the information they look at comes from a wide variety of ancient manuscripts.
No legitimate scholar wants to tarnish his/her reputation by simply speculating with little or nothing to back it up, so I'm inclined to believe they have done their homework.
@torunn saidBeing alright is not being loved like the Queen is in my humble opinion.
I think he will be all right.
I know how it works and Ghost felt the need to explain it to me, but I was just repeating what the atmosphere was like here.
I will be very embarrassed if when the time comes Charles visits and he and Carmela are booed.

@very-rusty saidMy point was that talking about who will or should succeed the Queen is entirely pointless.

The answer is still Charles. I don't think he'll be too troubled by a few booing Canadians.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidIf that is truly the case and I know you don't speak for Charles, then that would be a shame. We have always had close ties with England and the Queen.

EDIT: In my personal opinion and yes I always have at least one. I hope he skips coming to Nova Scotia altogether as I would not have to go through the embarrassment of him possibly being booed. Hopefully it wouldn't happen.

@very-rusty saidIf Charles is loved by the people, it will not happen over night. If not loved, then respected and that is good too.

@torunn saidI believe I've already told you he is not respected here because of the adultery with Carmela while married to Diana unfortunately. He probably should have never married Diana when he was in love with another women?

@very-rusty saidThat's true Rusty but life goes on and we all make mistakes. He has good qualities and is a good husband as far as we know. We have to give him a chance, and if the Canadians don't want to, I think they are wrong.

@torunn saidI wasn't talking about all Canadian, just the people in my small neck of the woods. Everyone has an opinion. Some say that Diana was cheating first, I don't know I wasn't there, but everyone believe committing adultery while married is wrong, unless of course they are both ok with it, but the Royals are held to higher Standard that the common Joe or Jane.

@very-rusty saidAs we so often says here, everyone is entitled to their opinions. I'm not so concerned about that kind of thinking.

@torunn saidI see so you feel it is quite ok for someone even a Prince that could become King to commit adultery while still married? Or are you just saying everyone is entitled to their own opinion on it? I ask because it appears you are quite ok with it.

@very-rusty saidHe was a different man then, much younger and immature. He is a grown man now ready for new responsibilities.

@torunn saidIt appears you are saying it isn't that you agree with the Adultery, just he was younger and immature. I would agree with that, have also told people that. As Ghost said he has waited many years for his turn!
