I dusted off my acoustic guitar last night and had fun strumming a few chords and trying to remember what I could play (I usually play electric).

Apart from "Wish You Were Here", a couple of Irish folk songs and some of my own stuff, I can't think what to play!
I don't listen to too much acoustic stuff so that doesn't help.

I was thinking "Wild Wood" by Paul Weller might be a good one to learn so I've got the tab for that.

What other recommendations?

That song by four non blondes that I can't think of the name of. Also, Golden Brown is a good one, always a crowd pleaser.
And finally, this may make you feel sick, but try fathoming the chords to that dreadful Chesney Hawkes song, Not as easy as you may think.
I'll get back to you when I think of more dross.

A'Soalin by Peter, Paul and Mary, was the first thing I learned. Easy and catchy.

I cover a lot of Dave Matthews songs. His style is difficult but it is a ton of fun to play once you learn it and the ladies love it 😉

Which Irish folk songs can you play?

I play bass, but recently was teaching myself some six-string and some uke!!

Good fun.

What kind of songs do you want? Easy-ish? Trad or rock/blues?

Hahah, If I insulted my lady by covering a Dave Matthews song, she'd either leave me or decide to take advantage of my life insurance policy.
