The substitution exception is supposed to be for short emergencies, not for significant portions of the game. When puffito1 was made unavailable for a month or so for the Shogunate game, I could have submitted a turnfile for him, but that would have been against the letter and spirit of the rule. Some of us follow them even if it might be to our game disadvantage, but I wouldn't expect that from you.

If you go through the thread, nook7 mentions twice that he's on holiday and asks what is going on in Illyria, a hint to any but the most obtuse that he is not at the helm of the Illyrian ship of state. Nobody made a big deal about it.
