i think it would mainly be because of what has happened to the holidays. they are not what they used to be. a person gets trampled on black friday at wal-mart, people file lawsuits over certain religious motifs being displayed in public, Santa is now refered to as "Holiday Figure", Christmas is now refered to as a "Non-Denomnational Winter Holiday, the reindeer's jobs were outsourced to mexico and the "enviormentally friendly delivery vehicle" is now being pulled by illegal immigrants who have ingested taco-bell's new more power burritos for propulsion, bert and ernie can't tie the not due to bible thumpers who also have forgotten the meaning of christmas.
i could probably go on for awhile but find it futile. as i have found reading alot of the threads on here. it would seem hatred and name calling reign supreme, regardless of the time of year
