Anything that cooks, that has plastic parts under heat, is toxic. This is common knowledge so Amazon and other sellers, put in a description of non-toxic. For example :

Maybe once every 3 months or so. I mostly cook in cast iron or stainless steel, with stainless steel or wooden cooking utensils. We actually bought 3 of those air-fryers over the last 5 years, and eventually gave away or dumped them all. They cook very well and without the extra oils. Great, but they aint for me and anyone who wants to limit toxic plastic exposure.

Yeah, well maybe that helps but this whole thing about cooking where plastic is involved is not healthy. Toxic fumes are released by teflon under high heat. The experts claim its miniscule but its not really when its in everything you eat, 3 times a day for a lifetime. Heat and plastic are dangerous for food, and it is becoming more and more common. You cannot escape plastic ...[text shortened]... ed pans, plastic cooking utensils, plastic mugs, plastic water kettles, plastic spoons, are all out.
Thanks for that, I got rid of almost everything plastic in my kitchen some time back through still use a bit of it like plastic bags for freezing. I mostly use glass dishes and jars for freezing foods and sauces, wooden spatulas and natural pan scourers for washing up in my stainless steel bowl . My understanding of the Teflon problem was where it broke down through scrapes to the surface.

We’re nearly all comprised of traces of plastic in this day and age. It’s even been found in foetuses which is horrible.

What gets me is how we best educate our school children on the dangers of plastics to discourage them from throwing their plastic garbage into the hedgerows when they start driving cars. There’s so much of it around ending up in rivers.

Indeed, you cannot escape the plastic and the toxins and chemicals in the food supply. This is why whenever it is possible, practical, or reasonable to do so, one should take the opportunity to do it, especially in the older years.

That fetus with plastic is no doubt the end result of the mother ignoring some of these warnings about plastic. I know lots of people have the attitude that its no big deal, we all going to die etc etc.

You know, something as basic as bread ... people really should, if they have the time bake their own bread. The ones in the grocery are usually packed with carcinogens and transfats, and its wrapped in plastic.

Does that really go on in the UK. Been there many times and I found it to be pretty clean. I though that was a 3rd world problem.

Oh it does here in South Wales, youngsters always seem to have cash to buy fast food and then enjoy flinging their late night car refuse out into the road. I’ve also found dumps of charity plastic bags that should be going into people’s letter boxes and piles of dumped coating from electricity copper cables. It’s very depressing.

The increase in fast food outlets has to take a lot of the blame. They're now using more paper and wood and less plastic which will help.

Years back it seemed the healthy thing for people to carry a plastic bottle of water around. Now it’s vapes 🫤

i joined the nefariousism cult
gonna bring the chaos to bear upon the authorities
went and bought a mid-range air fryer
at midnight last night i snuck into the swimming pool complex here in the subdivision
the plan was to vigorously test the surge capabilities of the texas grid by means of a simple overload
plugged that brand new in the box machine into a non-gfi protected circuit and tossed the beast into the deep end

so did texas *pop* and go dark?
no, dammit
how about north texas, or maybe just hood county?
nope
the lil subdivision?
nope
ANYTHING AT ALL?
yeah, the single circuit breaker where the air fryer was plugged in tripped exactly like it was supposed to

messed up the fryer pretty good tho

will send updates after my 30 days is done

I wont blame the food outlets at all. I think we are about the same age, and I can remember spending time in Wales, about 45 yrs ago, and the place was clean as a whistle. The country side, rivers, roadsides, were all pristine. There was less plastic then, but the people at that time is what makes the difference. Regardless of the amount of garbage produced there was a proper way to deal with it. Clearly that knowledge is not present in all of your residents.
