Intresting thread Kellsy, I hate to have to kill it.....
From "The Dead Zone" by Stephen King, "If you could go back to 1933 in Nazi Germany, would you kill Hitler?"
Stephen Fry's book, 'Making History' tells the story of someone who sterilises Hitler's father using a time machine, then goes back to the present to find that the Nazi party still came to power under someone else from Hitler's WWI regiment, and invented the atom bomb first, consequently conquering the whole of Europe. The alternative Nazi leader was more brave, intelligent and rational than Hitler, and the book makes the point that conditions in Germany were such that a far right party was bound to come into power.

It's not a great book but it's certainly an interesting read, though if you're going to read Fry you should read The Liar and Paperweight first, as they are both brilliant.

Ok, how bout this: You get your time machine working, take it back
to 1933, kidnap Hitler, then go up and down in time, kidnapping
any leaders who take his place, then go back about 100,000 years
in time and just let them go. They for sure won't be able to recreate
all the scientific knowledge of our times so they will be left ruling over
a bunch of cavemen who will make stories about how nasty people
can be. So you haven't killed anyone.

My thoughts today but couldn't put them into words!!! Don't know if fate is that cruel yet. Will read it if I can find it, sounds good to me.

I should tell you there's a sort of irrelevant-to-the-story subplot of gay love interest. It kind of left me cold, although I don't have anything against gays as such, but it feels a bit in-your-face 😕
