Today i was flipping through Tv channels. When i stop at ESPN channel and there i saw this ice hockey game.

Very harsh player fighting other player from other team and what i see is the players and refree watching it not stopping, isnt sport suppose to be friendly? OMG i couldn't stand it and just changed channel.

What do you guys think of this? Is this normal?

The referees usually won't stop a fight until one of the players has fallen.

Think about it. Would you step between two bigger, stronger guys throwing punches at each other?

Neither would I.

all sports are kind of friendly, i play football and like to hurt my opponents and get hurt, but you all shake hands and have a laugh afterwards so it is probably quite normal x, :-)

Hockey is a physical sport, with big, smelly men constantly shoving each other for control of a tiny rubber disc. Sounds kind of kinky if you ask me.

It isnt only about refree. What about other players? Why cant they all jump in and stop it? But to watch there friend getting hurt. This only game now i see people fight like this. It scared me to death.

jah, nii se ongi, lolette dear... it was mockery intended... personally, I prefer Northern European hockey, where the boxing is not that common and players priviledge technique over brutal force...

I think you should stick to Queer Eye, Home Shopping Network, and Price Is Right, Sunshine.

Fighting and Hockey go together like peas and carrots. As a hockey fan I always enjoy watching a good brawl. For those that are not hockey fans that complain about the fighting well .... just shut f@$k up and go watch some world cup soccer.

You appear to be off your game. Your witty commentary has been lacking of late. Are you well?

The ref has more power then you do. As a player you could receive a liftime ban from the sport. Maybe even be prosecuted for a act of battery. I have never seen a raf get hit by a player other then when he was caught in the play. One time I saw a ref get a head slap by a Raider as he was running past him for a fumbled football. I think he was Van MacElroy. The fans are another story. In a Viking game a ref was hit in the head by a liquer bottle.
