i can't use either. it just isn't chess. I mistake pieces and generally haven't a clue what's going on (though that happens anyway 🙂) so I was just interested in whether anyone used them as their setting and if so what rating are you??

Hey, I like that medieval one - If I use it in my game against IronMan it almost looks like I'm winning!

No, I don't use them either, I was being sarcastic, although I think I'm going to go and give them a try now.

*Edit* No I'm not, they really are rubbush aren't they?

I'll challenge you to a smiley game if you like Jimmy! A mate of mine (now on the site) got his only win against me otb when we played on his board where I couldn't tell what pieces were what. It tests attention levels I guess!

I don't think you can change the board on a game by game basis, so we would have to trust each other to keep swapping.

Anyone I know? (I'm the Jimmy you know through Si in the real world btw in case you didn't know)

Russ, how about people design other boards and you choose the best one as a replacement for the smiley board?

Or are there reasons for one less board in general?

I reckon we can manage it on trust. The mate was Faggy, who you met at Glastonbury, don't think you met him any other time. He's on this site as Sparrar.

Oh, and I did know it was you. The picture was a pretty big clue anyway!

Russ or Chris,
can you post anything about the percentage the piece sets are used? (50% book, 30% newspaper, ...?)

It would perfectly accurately show who uses what, just not necessarily what they want to use.
