"Any Opinions Today?"
Since you've already begun asking (in your mind or beneath your breath, lol), I've got three:
1) That all of us have many more opinions than we express in public. Sadly, we keep them to ourselves, rather than risk disapproval or criticism. 2) That Henry David Thoreau didn't get it quite right in his cabin on Walden Pond in Concord, MA (today a lovely wooded picnic grounds, a short drive west of Boston), when he told his diary that "Most men lead lives of quiet deseration". In my view, longing for people and places and events of times past along with deep yearnings about changing our present situations for the better also energize and drive the direction of the fleeting days of our lives. 3) That Red Hot Pawn stands head and shoulders above all of its correspondence chess site/public forum competition. 4)
6) On a Canadian political bent, we are having a governmental meltdown concerning, mostly large, city mayors: Montreal -Applebaum:14 charges, Toronto- Ford: Crack Cocaine insinuations, London (Ontario)- Fontana: allegations of using taxpayers money to "help" pay for his sons weddings. I think we're going to "Hell in a hand basket"...well not me of course I mean polititians.😀
