We're up to STEP 6, which has taken us to La Rochelle.
STEP 7 :

La Rochelle, Poitou-Charentes, or La Rochelle, Franche-Comté??
What the heck does someone want to go to La Rochelle for in the first place??

Can't we retrace our steps (which I sometimes do) back to Turin, and drive - by car- from Turin to Ljubljana, Slovenia? It doesn't get us out of Europe yet, but we're motoring in the right direction 😲

Okay then; STEP 7 has now taken us to Ljubljana in Slovenia.

My father did Liverpool to Melbourne and back around the other way on the last ever grain race in a 4 mast barque (or windjammer as they used to call them) called the Passat in 1938. So can we call that one move?

So now we have two routes:

(a) Manchester - London - Paris - Geneva - Monaco - Turin - Ljubjana

(b) Manchester - Liverpool - Melbourne

Feel free to add to either, but please, NO PLANES! It makes it too easy. And remember to keep track of the STEP number - we are trying to do this in 80 steps, after all.

Actually, we could have done this as a race...

I came to London by sea from Singapore once, so if you can fit that in somewhere it might help.

Edit: as part of a bigger tour. Is that allowed?
