Of course there is luck in football, a team can totally outplay another and still get beat 1:0 that's the nature of the sport.
i think the aussies were very lucky to win 3-1 tother day, but probably not as lucky as england were to beat tnt

I disagree they were lucky to win. The Japanese goal came out of nowhere and involved a bit of a mess - in fact, I understand the referee kind of apologised at the end of the game and implied he should have awarded a free kick to Schwarzer.
Also, there were large parts of the game where we were dominating possession.
But certainly the way we scored 3 goals was pretty remarkable and perhaps there was some luck involved there - although the 2nd and 3rd goals were great finishing.

Originally posted by gniyfidom7You obviously did not see much of the game then because the Australian team did a lot more attacking. After Japan's lucky goal Harry Kewell nearly equalised in the following minutes ,his kick from way out just clipped the cross bar,but besides that the Australians had a lot of attacking raids.

Originally posted by boarmani didnt see much of the game , no, but in the ten minutes i did see the japs were much better-looking going forward but with no-one to finish things off, 10 mins doth not make a game of footy, two halves do, π²
