Originally posted by omulcusobolaniThe internet states that there is a Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast (expansion pack), Baldur,s Gate 2: Shadows of Amn, and Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal.(expansion pack). It also states that there is a Baldur's Gate 3. Perhaps it is being developed? Do you need Baldur's Gate installed to install the expansion? I could not fully install Baldur's Gate. I had to leave out the movies and the city of Baldur' Gate.
Sadly there is no Baldur's Gate 3, 2 is standalone though.
For tales of the sword coast you need Bg 1 and for throne of bhaal you need Bg2. If you don't make a full install you'll be required to swap cds more often but this has no effect on whether or not you can install the expansions, however you will need some space on your hdd to install the expansions.I don't think there will ever be a Baldur's Gate 3, Black Isle is bankrupt.
Wikipeda states that Baldur's Gate 3: The Black Hound appered to be cancelled in 2003. Baldur's Gate 3 was to be a module for Neverwinter Nights 2. In 2004 it was stated that Baldur's Gate 3 is in the works. No other information has been released. Guess Baldur's Gate 3 is not going to be produced.
I did but I cheated. I used tons of monster summoning and haste spells. I maybe cast sixteen monsters summons. My characters were level six and seven and I had them out of the area except for my Wizard. He was tough. There were dead everywhere. I doubt that a player's party could kill Drizzt Do Urden. Baldur's Gate has a level seven cap and Drizzt Do Urden was a level seventeen Ranger the last time I ever heard anything about him.

Any of you players ever manage to kill Drizzt Do Urden in Baldur's Gate?
I used all the monsters I could, all my player characters, potions galore and kept my wizard out of the way casting healing spells constantly. Even then the eventual win ocurred with all but 1 of my party dead.
By the time we fought I had killed virtually everything else and had immensely strong characters. I certainly had no chance on the first encounter.
Originally posted by Dragon FireWhat do you mean by "Immensely strong characters"? I soloed a wizard at level seven to level him faster and make him stronger. I found out that I was not getting experience points any more. I stoped getting points at a thousand points short of level 8. This is why I say there is a level seven cap for the game. Too me level 12 is when a character starts to have some power. At level 12 a fireball spell has a range of about 480 ft. and does about 12 to 96 point of damage and he may learn the Disintegrate spell. Of course Baldur's gate took the power out of the wizards range. They lied about the range. I do not believe Baldur's gate is giving me the stated range of sight. When I cast it to the edge of the moniter srceen my Wizard steps forward to cast it.
