I live four metres below sea level. Did I lose a second's sleep because of this "emergency situation"? Don't you believe it. Our naval engineers are the best in the world, by quite a margin. I have full confidence in them, and I've never yet been disappointed. I feel safer here in the polders than I would in Kent.

The post that was quoted here has been removedOh, it isn't now, but BBC articles are like Pikiwedia pages: you cannot rely on what is there now being the same as what it was an hour ago. When I read it first, the threats of flooding were dire. Now, even the BBC has noticed that the Europe-wide disaster has not happened, and the page has been altered.
