I made a lamb stew last night, if that's any use.

Chunks of lamb leg, garlic, shallots, mushrooms (including some dried mushrooms), celery, pearl barley, potato, green beans. Add a splash of red wine, some beef stock, and some fresh rosemary. Cook slowly for about three hours.

Very nice.

I plan on making vegetarian "beef" stew soon.

I could teach you. But I'd have to charge.

Granny says: Take all your usual beef stew ingredients. Cut everything bite size. Add a little gravey. Stuff this in a fresh big's stomach. Coat with EVOO, and bake until done(?) Place a portion of stomach and innerds in a bowl, add more gravey and eat. How do you spell gravy?

Granny.

Add potatoes and root vegetables, they act as a natural thickening agent which makes the sauce really thick and yummy. 🙂

Beef, onions, carrots, swede (where is Stocken these days?), courgettes, potatoes, oxo stock - all into a pressure cooker for approx 15mins after the pressure is up. Add suet dumplings or bake them in the oven. 🙂

EDIT: Don't cook the dumplings in the pan under pressure!

Fresh Big's Stomach isn't helping me much either.

Granny, don't bother explaining. Just go away.
