I loved the taste of canned Hienz tomato soup. . . .My memories span back to the late 70's, not so far. Rice pudding was also good.

I dreaded the days when canned corned beef was served up. . . .

These days sometimes I buy canned water chesnuts and sometimes bamboo because they are not available fresh in UK supermarkets. Apart from that I do not really eat canned stuff anymore

My diet has changed alot since the late 70's

The man from Del Monte also said "Yheas" to corn. . . . He had his hands in more pies than I thought.

Pork and beans out of a can too. But you can scrap that little chunk of fat they put in there. I never did understand why they did that.

When I worked the oil rigs we used to take a can of say, Dinty Moore and stab a hole in the top of it with a screwdriver. Put in on the cylinder heads or the radiators of the diesel engines that ran the rig and soon enough you had hot chow. Especially great in the winter.

I forgot to say I live off canned coconut milk. . . .Make Asian soups, stir fries, curries and many other great coconut based dishes. . . .Sod fish and chips and "English Food" whatever that actually is. . . I live in England was born here, grew up here but don't eat the food and do not recommend anybody does, if it comes in a can or not. The "Lonely Planet" can quote me if they like.
