London was on my list as well, must have deleted it before posting. That would maje the 8, not 7. Love the parks in London.

London, because I used to feel at home there. Alas, no more.
Rome, indeed, for the history.
Venice, for the atmosphere.
Prague, ditto.
Hamburg, because I am at home there, as a Nether-Saxon.

I still want to visit Bologna and Barcelona. If the USA ever turns sane, maybe Boston or New Orleans.

Agree with Cartagena if you mean the Columbian one. And:
Bangkok
Jakarta
Rio.
I detest London.

I was there in the mid 60s and loved it. One did, at the time, have to be wary of what one did for “fun”.

*Colombia

Drives me crackers people misspelling Colombia. Columbia is in America, or is a record company.

London is great, the mix of nationalities, foods, cultures etc, can’t be beaten.

Haven’t been to Rio yet, been on the list for a while, loves cities by the sea.

As the date shows, my visit was during the “Franco Years” which were…well quite strict when it came to certain things.

What I particularly like about London and New York, especially Manhattan, is that people are friendly even to strangers. I don't have a heavy Swedish accent in English - it could I believe pass for an English dialect - and I have always been met with respect and even curiosity when I say I'm Swedish. When I was in Manhattan with friends a few years ago and people noticed that my cousin had his wheel-chair, they went out of their way to help. We used the bus a few times and once we asked the driver where the closest stop was to get back to our hotel. He said: Where are you staying? And we gave him the location, and he said: Ok, that's where I'll let you off.

Heh. That only happened to me in, of all places, Dublin.
