A couple of my favourites -
Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Westerns
Lord of the Rings

Came across a version of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly by the Danish National Symphony, its hair-raisingly good.

What are yours ?

So many spring to mind.

- Opening of Terminator 1
- Most of the music from The Graduate
- The Man with the golden Gun

Amadeus. But then, the score was already written before the film came out.

Are we including musicals?

I mean, obviously Mama Mia, the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Grease, etc. are way above average.

And what about “Semi-musicals”? Like the Blues Brothers?

If we’re disgarding them, then for general sound track I’d have to go with:
- Good Morning Vietnam
- The Big Lebowski
- Pulp Fiction

Best classical music score:
- anything with John Williams

Best song:
- The Spy Who Loved Me

Yes of course.... all nice music, although I cannot remember the Rocky Horror one. I think all the James Bond films had a special attraction for the music. One of my favourtie musicals was Saturday Night Fever... loads of hits in there.

"Im Not There" is a another musical depicting the life of Bob Dylan.. has some nice folk music.

Your list reminds me of
The Piano.
Interesting sometimes weird movie of early New Zealand.
