its just i remeber the original fleetwood mac, dont think phase 2 macs music like ELOs has not stood the test of time.
Ah, you mean Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac? Albatros, Black Magic Woman, etc.? BB King once said of Peter Green that he was the only white guitarist who gave him (BBK) goose bumps.

i like that phrase, "the test of time"...
what stands the test of time???
    atlantis???
    the holy roman empire???
    the maya???
    dry gulch, texas???

all gone as gone can be,
unless the songs sung to remember them are counted as "still there"...

imagine playing a lute for bonaparte (not the rusty bonaparte, the little napoleonic one) and pleasing him with yer songs only to see the whole thing crumble as "fortunes" change...

i know we are only speaking of wisps of smoke on the wind, music that has touched the soul, yet not good enough to remain in the radio rotation...

nothing stands the test of time...
    not songs,
    not humans who sing them,
not planets that we try to destroy,
not stars that keep the planets warm,
not the void that contains all of it...

    nothing

Yes, he was a good player but not in Beck's league.

Buddy Holly- he introduced the Fender Stratacaster to the world or rock.

My bias aside, I think Clapton, Beck, and Hendrix each reached the pinnacle from a different side of a 3 sided pyramid.
