Best thread ever...

There is one thread that really stands out in my mind as being the best thread ever, and surprisingly enough, its not The Word Association Game.

This thread had me in hysterics, both while contributing to it, reading it as it progressed and rereading it last week.

http://www.timeforchess.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=21596

It takes a couple of pages to get going, but I believe any fan of the legend, Richard Whiteley RIP and Countdown specifically will enjoy it. See if you can spot all the gags.

Anybody else have a thread that they thought was/is great?

True. And I did contribute a lot of the posts. What can I say? I'm a genius. 😞 Read it and try not to laugh, although having said that, it might not be as funny for our non channel 4 watching friends.

;D

Best thread ever? Best for me would mean funny, so it would have to be "How do you become a gay?" by Brother Edwin

http://www.redhotpawn.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=16663&page=1

All the cast of characters are there with the greatest performances coming from RBHill and the Brother himself.

Best line: Ragnorak on Page 6. 😉

EDIT - LMAO. While re-reading it, I found the best line. I'll even quote it here:

"When I use to look at it I always when past the Blacks.
I like the whites, asians and Mexicans.

I have no sister."

-RBHill

LMFAO!!

That's a good quote. I'd put that right up there with the thread and post when we finnally learned the meaning behind your name.

Gayest name ever!

Best thread ever....Hmm....It would probably be one of the hundreds about the banning of jameswoodley.... They were funny.... Or one of the battle threads between the Contumelious Clan and the Guttersnipes. Nothing like seeing a bunch of online chess players slug it out by throwing meaningless insults at one another 🙂. Ahh, the memories....

Ah, the best one about James Woodley has sadly been deleted. It was in the Tournaments forum and was hundreds of posts long.

The CC Goad of the Day is another great thread that comes to mind as well...

The Survivor Game thread was a hoot for a while. That died out around Christmas time I believe.

I'm quite partial to "Should homosexuals be discriminated?" (http://www.timeforchess.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=23720)

Just when you think it's finished a new idiot joins in. The worst of them all is hard to judge but I give it to ADARKKNIGHT. He beats out xxxenophobe and mc2005 which is no easy feat.

Choice quote: "YEP AND IF THAT IS TRUE THEN NATURE CAME UP WITH AIDS TO CONTROL THE HOMOSEXUALS. TOO BED US NORMAL HUMANS HAVE TO SUFFER."

You're my idol Rags.
