He's a good manager but surely we [england] should have an english manager - if not lets have some foreign players too.

Can't think of any reason why we should have an English manager. Would be great if we could have players from other countries, but it's currently against the rules. It would certainly be unusual among sports (unique I think) to allow foreign players in national teams, but I'd be all in favour of it.

He shouldnt accept the job anyway as earlier he said he has a gentlemans agreement with the Portugese FA boss so I wouldnt expect him to sign anything just yet!

I'll drink to that. 🙂

You can almost guarantee the FA will mess things up somehow - probably how they got their name. 🙄

If they do go for Phil and Portugal do awful in the world cup, I think the country will immediately turn on the poor foreigner from the start.

I think if he does accept the job theyll sack him before the world cup, wouldnt like to see it happen as England will be blamed for disrupting things as per usual lol

They should have offered it to Dr. Phil.

Big Phil is awful. He's as stubborn and dumb as they come. As a Portuguese, I hope you take him as soon as possible.

He is a fantastic manager and will be superb for England, he has already proved himself at the top level. It's alright saying we should get an English manager but they simply are not good enough.

International football is played mostly in a continental style which most english managers do not understand. The world cup and all international games are about using your skill and tactic to beat a team not mainly using strength and hard tackle tactics to win games.

I respect big sam and the rest but unless you want England to never win the world cup we need to look else where. We have one of the most talented England teams for years thats why so many people want the job.

He is a great manager but as he cant really speak English then its not much help really cos then he will have to use a translater which will have to have the same way of thinking as the manager otherwise there is no point of having him there!
