I agree though, it is the most ridiculous looking thing ever. Once, I ran out of black socks and stuck on a pair of white socks. When walking, I was constantly distracted by these flashing white things on my feet. Very strange and VERY embaressing.

When I went to school in the early 80's there was nothing more cool than white socks with your black school uniform, kids used to change out of the black socks their mum made them wear into white ones on the bus to and from school.
You would never got a seat on the back row of the bus with black socks back then!!!
