When I went to school in the early 80's there was nothing more cool than white socks with your black school uniform, kids used to change out of the black socks their mum made them wear into white ones on the bus to and from school.

You would never got a seat on the back row of the bus with black socks back then!!!

I want to go back to this time then. Fashion smashion.

I'm from U.S.A. and I get made fun of all the time by my co workers over black shoes and white socks.

It is very heartening to see that others wear them too. I'm not the only one, thank the wind!

Here are some Europeans out for a nice stroll. I think here in America we will be wearing the same clothing as you in Europe.......Soon.

Notice the black dress, black shoes, and white socks. Also shown in photo is a woman wearing what appears to be vinyl slacks.

I've heard that prominently displayed white socks are the height of fashion in the UK, along with gold chains, Adidas tracksuits, Burberry check baseball caps... πŸ˜›

I'm American and don't wear white socks with black shoes.

That's like me saying all Britian's have bad teeth.
Get spent!
Very easily actually.

You're just lucky yo momma is still dressing you, or u'd probably try to be cool like Phlab with your black shoes and white socks.

Seeing as you have a problem with generalisations and sarcasm, here's a joke I'm sure you'll appreciate...

Jay Fullmer, 38, yesterday became the first American to get to grips with the concept of irony. "It was weird" Fullmer said. "I was in London and like, talking to this guy and it was raining and he pulled a face and said, "great weather, eh?" and I thought "wait a minute, no way is it great weather". Fullmer then realised that the other man's 'mistake' was in fact deliberate. Fullmer, who is 39 next month and married with two children, aged 8 and 3, plans to use irony himself in future. "I'm
like using it all the time" he said. "Last weekend I was grilling steaks
and I burned them to sh!t and I said "hey, great weather!".

Btw: have u spotted any non-americans admitting to wearing white socks and black shoes in this thread? My point probably should have been that the only country I know of where people wear white socks and black shoes is America. But to be honest, I wasn't expecting some p!ssant like your good self picking me up on semantics in a light hearted post.

If you're talking jeans and Nikes , then white socks are ok .But if you're talking dress or dress-casual with dress shoes , then it's -"An abomination in the eyes of the lord your god . Suffer not these white-socked caucasian abominators to live , and heap upon him insults . Drive your chariots before him and crush him under it's wheels . Hear the lamentations of his women ."
Caucasians II : vrs 3-4 .
It also says pants that are 3-4 inches above the shoe tops are just as bad .
