right click "my computer"
right click "c" drive
left click "properties"
left click "tools"
click under "error checking" the "Check now" button

I never knew Windows had that feature. I've been doing it in command prompt all this time. 😞

If this problem came up at work, I would have swapped the drive as the cheapest option (after watching the beast and several cups of tea).
Is this an option for you?

Is your internal C drive over 80gig?

No it's just 37.5gb.
