It has come to my attention that the immaculate spelling and grammar of the user "Bowmann" is not his own work.

"Bowmann" has been using a powerful piece of software, known as Microsoft Word, to select the strongest combination of words and prevent him from blundering & looking like a etc etc etc etc.

my experience with word would lead me to believe that it would actually hinder ones performance in grammar in particular, but also spelling to a lesser degree.

Especially since it uses that greatest of contradictions - 'American grammar'.

Yep. Not bad for our resident ploughboy. Rumour has it that he has been using the "spellcheck" engine to anaylise his posts as well. I've already alerted the "check mods" so no doubt he will soon appear on the banned list.

I was taught English grammar in school and believe that is the case everywhere in the U.S. There is no 'American grammar' of which I am aware. You probably are bothered by American usage and spelling or, like many of your fellows, by all things American. I don't care much for much of what passes for communication here in the U.S. either. There are still quite a few literate people here, but you may not find many of them posting on internet web sites.

Cheers!

Jeb

I refuse to believe that my grammatical hero Bowmann, or BM as I like to call him, has been using a spellcheck engine. He has been my role-model since the day I joined this site and a prominent figure in the RHP community. Did you even give him a chance to defend himself? I need to see hard evidence, I want it all posted in this thread, right now! We can't go around accusing everyone of spell checking without concrete evidence.

I know he referees at spelling bees at his local school. I know he has a collection of more than 3,000 dictionaries which he consults while posting. I know someone once saw him writing Christmas cards in a cafe in Italy and considered his spelling of terms like "best wishes for the festive season" to be "exceptionally strong", but the evidence is overwhelming.

No one who posts up to 100 insults a day can match MS Word spellings 95-100 per cent. No one.
