I believe the 'hardcore' element is fitting, yes...
quintessentially English, he is certainly typecast that way...there is a fine line between the English and the 'broader' British...

Most Northern English folk can't stand the ****!

Complete embarressment. Londoners might like him a little bit more though.
Comedy? Suzianne is funnier than him, although involuntary.

Only thing Hughie Grunt did that was funny was get caught with that extremely ugly brass in USA land. Now THAT was funny!

Isn't Hugh Grant related to that Bucket woman or was he Onslo and Daisy's son-in-law?

No, I don't think so. They know what Notting Hill is really like. People from Bucks, perhaps, or Surrey.

Oh dear oh dear. Londoners do not like Hugh Grant mate. LOL. Well, maybe the ones who live in Notting Hill do.

I can see how my post was misconstrued. I was taking the mickey out of the term 'hardcore British'.

Dreamy though he may be, I prefer another Hugh, Hugh Jackman.

Big points for being Australian over being British. 😀

If there's one thing good to say about Hugh Grant, it is that he at least has not been enough of a boring, imaginationless hack to play that worst of script-killers, Wolverine.

I didn't say that was a great film, just imagining Hugh Grant as the wolverine makes me giggle.

(As his claws come out) "Pardon me sir, is this the way to Nodding hill? I have a dreadful feeling something awful is about to happen and they need my immediate assistance".......
