We've done the thread to death now.
I'll leave you to ponder my dislike of the over-use of emoticons
Take care now.
I note that you are new here (I checked, expecting to find you and your unfamiliar moniker had posted 10,000 times in the Clans Forum). Your desire to relax and generate banter is admirable. I think you need to develop a thicker skin, though. And you should check out the Clans Forum. It might be exactly the kind of environment you are looking for.

I have to say that's rather good.
Thought you might like this (no hidden meaning BTW, just cracking humour):
"Two negatives don't make a positive, any more than two half-wits make a wit"

He wasn't all bad...

"Spanky" is commonly used on this forum and others.
You'll soon learn its nuance.

Emoticons are there to give feeling.
Posting without emoticons is like talking without body language.

😀

But then you would be Ghost of a Duke and have to walk the dog in the rain.

🙁

I wasn't aware of the spanky thing, so thanks for that one.
As far as emoticons go, I use them myself, sparingly. Too many though and the text loses weight. For me, anyway.

My question was rhetorical.

If, instead of a declarative statement, you'd followed up with "Was my question rhetorical?" then that would have been a Rhetorical Question Double Whammy.
