I highly recommend his composition "Nebuchadnezzar" from that album.
very good indeed.
@badradger saidRea and Rogers?
had a pint or 2 with chris rea & paul rodgers and all his band mates in the (free) in the kirk/bob mortimer(comedian) in my wifes chocolate shop....shook hands with BB King in newcastle city hall.
I'm jealous. They're legendary!
Rogers' "Bad Company" filled a large fraction of my youth's musical ambience. On rare occasions, I hear "Burning Sky" and I'm instantly transported into a timeless reality.

@wolfe63 saidi had all the Free albums but only the first bad company album,rodgers & rea plus bob mortimer are all from middlesbrough, chris,. sang in my wifes church choir, I used to lay floors in his dads ice cream shops , i heard his first demo tape in there, he used to hang out in the Kirk owend by john mcoy who helped get him his first record deal, the Free often appeared at the Kirk and my wifes friend Barbra Douthwaite was going out with Paul rodgers so we offten got to hang around with them after the gig 1970 ish

I worked closely with HRH Prince Edward for a couple of months when I was about 21 years old. I met Mark Kozelek after one of his shows in Perth. And Robert Fripp too, now come to think of it, after a League of Gentlemen gig at High Wycomb Further Ed college in 1980. I bumped into saxophonist Javon Jackson in Narita Airport in Japan in about 1996 and told him I liked one of his albums.
@badradger
Wow, Free was an awesome band.
Paul Kossoff pretty much self-destructed after Free broke up. Too bad, terrific guitarist he was.
@moonbus saidWhat makes it even more amazing is how young they were. You listen to Songs of Yesterday and it feels like somebody who has seen a lot of life.

@petewxyz saidover the green hills gets me every time, Paul Rodgers came from a rough council estate as did myself, Chris Rea was a bit more middle class, he was a late starter on guitar 20ish before he picked up an axe.
