I like avocado as a sandwich spread. As well as being creamy and delicious, there is apparently some evidence that it assists in the uptake of nutrients contained in whatever else you're eating at the time. I like the taste of butter, but not the ...[text shortened]... . I'm not really into butter substitutes, whether i can believe they're not butter or not.
Thanx for posting against your better judgment, your dirty little secret is safe with me.

In Ireland we stayed at a hotel that put butter on all our sandwiches. Ugh. Ham and butter?

Any. Lettuce and tomato are obvious, as is onion. Cucumber, sprouts, avocado, raw zucchini, roasted eggplant, shredded carrots, pickles, peppers in any form, sliced olives, fresh basil or cilantro...all good.
Tomatoes aren't veggies. 😉

Neither are peppers I don't think. Cucumber seems like a fruit; it has seeds in it. Same with Avocado and I think Zucchini. And eggplant I think. And olives.

I think it would be quite unusual here to get a ham sandwich without butter.

Botanically, I believe they are actually berries. Nevertheless, they are vegetation so there's that, anyway. 🙂
