Hopefully - then we can all go back to playing our vinyl records. 🙂

Which incidentally last much longer than cds.

What hinders you? I still have more LPs than CDs, and I bought a record deck a few years ago so that I can listen to them again. Most often I listen to the radio, though.

I think that LPs will outlast CDs.

Thats true - I once had an in-car record player but it only played singles [45s]. And the sound quality was rubbish.

I've not suffered from significant wear on either, but would gues that by friction alone, LP's would have a shorter lifespan on a play by play basis.

The reason I think LPs are longer-lasting is because I have some that were made between the 60s and 90s that are in perfect condition still, yet some cds I have [or should I say had] became unplayable, or even disintegrated in some cases, after 5 or 6 years.

Hm, I have never had a CD become unplayable. My LPs are also all playable, but several of them have scratches, which can be extremely annoying.
